This course is offered to police officers in order to build the necessary skills to operate as a police sniper and is also relevant to experienced snipers. The course also features blocks of instruction related to legal reasoning for use of force, equipment selection and care of sniper equipment. The course will prepare an officer to effectively respond to critical situations and to act in a decisive and legal manner. Students will participate in scenario-based training with focus on police sniper incidents, target acquisition and identification. Students will also shoot through various barriers, to include automotive glass and will participate in stress fire exercises.
