| Negotiating in a School Environment: Advanced Concepts for Crisis Negotiators |

This course is designed for sworn members of law enforcement assigned and trained as crisis negotiators, sworn members of law enforcement assigned duties as a school resource officer, members of school crisis response teams and mental health professionals assigned duties in support of law enforcement activities. The curriculum is considered advanced and is presented with the expectation that attendees have attended a basic 40-hour crisis negotiation course. Topics presented include: Negotiating in a School Environment; Overview of a Tactical Response; Adolescent Mental Health, Adolescent Suicide, and Negotiating With Troubled Youth. The course will culminate with a 6-hour, evaluated practical exercise that allows individuals and teams to negotiate in a school-based scenario. 20-hrs Total (CEH: 4-hours Technical Skill; 8-hours Interpersonal Perspectives & 4-hours Skill Development) |
